Legends tell of the Makluan Rings... rings of power wielded by the Mandarin, an ancient Chinese ruler of myth. I've found ancient scrolls that describe the rings and what they could do... things that could only be called MAGIC in ancient time, I now believe to be an advanced form of TECHNOLOGY.

THE RING OF EMERGENCE

The first ring of the Mandarin was described in such a way that can only be what we call in this modern age TELEPORTATION.

With this ring, the Mandarin could appear and disappear at will, moving any distance - from across the room to across the WORLD.

The Mandarin could also cause massive explosions as he disappeared... possibly a side effect of the vacuum created as he disappeared.
